ACN Carers High Tea – Celebrating Carers Week 2025!
ACN Carers High Tea: Celebrating Carers Week 2025
Held at the beautiful Conca D’oro Riverwood, our Carers High Tea was a heartfelt celebration dedicated to honouring the incredible carers in our community, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and deserving of joy, rest, and connection.
The day was filled with inspiration, laughter, and genuine connection. From dancing, singing, Kahoot trivia, and interactive activities, to moments of reflection and calm, carers were encouraged to take time for themselves and have fun.
A highlight of the day was a soothing meditation led by the amazing Pei Jing, leaving everyone feeling lighter and more at ease. The room soon erupted in smiles and voices as everyone joined in singing “I Will Survive” before gathering flowers to take home, a symbol of the beauty and resilience they bring to others.
One of the most moving moments was a live performance by Angelina Castelli, whose angelic voice filled the room with emotion and brought many to tears.
Our powerful panel conversation featured:
Vanessa Gauci, ACN CEO
Michelle Williams, Carer Gateway Benevolent
Atilio Brito, CEO & Founder, Dads Speak
Jeramy Nusco, Insightful Impact
Together, they spoke candidly about the realities of being a carer, the exhaustion, the daily challenges, and the emotional toll that can accompany caregiving. They also shared important reminders about self-compassion, accepting support, and giving oneself permission to rest and recharge. When carers take a break, everyone benefits, including their loved ones, who gain independence and new opportunities.
We were honoured to be joined by our incredible supporters and guests:
Zhi Soon MP, Federal Member for Banks
Clr Sam Stratikopoulos, Deputy Mayor, Georges River Council
Carer Gateway Benevolent, Michelle Williams and team – Event Sponsor
Club Rivers – Event Sponsor
Jenny & Caitlin from Club Rivers
